Offer personal support if patients relapse – “I can help you”.

Offer alternatives – ‘We can try another way”.

Make follow-up support phone calls to:

  • Check on medication use and side-effects
  • Reassure patients about withdrawal symptoms
  • Support patients with engaging with stop smoking services.
